Over 300,000 women and nearly 10 times as many newborns die annually from complications during pregnancy and childbirth. Let's change this.
We Are Global Force for Healing
We believe all women have the right to a healthy, respectful birth and to make decisions about their reproductive health.
Pregnancy and birth are the first opportunities to be imprinted with love. Love and compassion must be at the heart of the birth experience for mother and baby. This realization of the power of love to transform lives helps to ensure the wellbeing of all families, communities, and Planet Earth.
Global Force For Healing envisions a world where all women have “voice and choice,” specifically access to quality, women-centered care regardless of where they live, their level of education, or financial status. In this world, all babies are welcomed with love, all mothers are treated with compassion and respect, and all communities are supported to be healthy and thrive.
The mission of Global Force for Healing is to end preventable maternal and newborn deaths by supporting the scaling of effective community-based, culturally respectful care and related education in underserved areas around the globe. Read Our Full Mission
Why We Do It
More than 300,000 women and nearly 10 times as many newborns die annually around the world from complications during pregnancy and childbirth. Nearly all of these deaths are preventable.
“Our alliance has strengthened us beyond our wildest dreams. In one year we were able to restructure our organization, raise new funds, and participate in key global forums.”
- Cristina Alonso, Founder/Director, Luna Maya
Please note: Although our work draws on a deep spiritual taproot, we are not affiliated with any religious or spiritual group. Rather, we embrace universal principles and practices that demonstrate the healing power of love and compassion in action.

Updated Land Acknowledgment (Nov. 13, 2021)
We are on the land of the Shasta, Takelma, Latgawa, and many other recognized and unrecognized tribes who have living relationships with the Southern Oregon region from 'time out of mind' to now. These Tribes remain displaced since their forceful removal by Euro-American colonizers beginning in the 19th century. Today, the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Community of Oregon and the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians are living descendants of the Takelma, Shasta, and Latgawa peoples of this area.
Let us remember to continue dismantling the systems of oppression that have dispossessed Indigenous people of their lands and denied their rights to self-determination, and encourage the return of all that was taken from them.
